Akwa Ibom APC suspends youth Caucus chairman

22 Jun
Image may contain: 1 person, beard and closeup

Following the decision of One-quarter of officers of the APC Youth Caucus on Sunday, June 21, we hereby announce the indefinite suspension of Mr. Iniobong John as Chairman of the Caucus.

The decision follows the will of the Caucus to purge itself of the many misgivings of the erstwhile Caucus Chairman and to restore the confidence of the public in the Caucus and by extension, the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State.

At the meeting where the suspended Chairman was invited but declined attendance, the Caucus appointed Mr. Godwin Jarkwa as the Acting Chairman, pending when the election into offices will be due.

It would be recalled that the bearer, Iniobong John has been the fore of our public utterances in recent times, owing to his selfish and unholy marriage with bigwigs in and outside the Party whom he goes about using the name and office of the Youth Caucus to defraud, and other things which are inimical to the principles of the establishment of the group.

May we state here that the APC Youth Caucus was never created as an appendage of the NDDC or as a partisan to any politician within and outside the Party, but as a medium to reward youths and attract benefits to members of the Caucus who worked tirelessly for the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari, through the negotiation of tangible benefits.

Whereas, Stakeholders of the Caucus have watched keenly the crooked activities of Iniobong John (which include and is not limited to going to politicians’ houses to beg for money, blackmail and threats to attack them and also bargaining the amount of money to be collected for them to be spared), and have warned him severally to desist from such without a change from him, we find it within the provision of the Caucus Bye-law to suspend him indefinitely.

The interim Chairman, Godwin Jarkwa is to report directly to the State Youth Leader of the Party without any form of partisanship or bias to any person or organization except as determined and agreed by a one-quarter of the Caucus.

We call on members of the public to note this suspension as anyone who transacts any business with Iniobong John henceforth, does so at their risk. Whatever comes from him forthwith remains his personal opinion and not a product of the APC Youth Caucus.

While Mr. Godwin Jarkua now acts as Chairman of the Caucus, proper communication regarding election into offices shall be made known in due course.

AKPABIO A DESTABILISING AGENT: Akwa Ibom APC Elders Warn Buhari Against Nominating Godswill Akpabio Minister

27 May

Image may contain: 3 people, people smiling, people standing and beard

Elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State have warned President Muhammadu Buhari against shortlisting Senator Godswill Akpabio for ministerial appointment.

The president will take another oath of office at his inauguration on Wednesday, May 29 for his second term of four years.

Consequently, the group, Ibom Integrity and Servant Leadership Culture Initiative, in a letter to the president, said an appointment for Akpabio would be an open invitation to the crisis in the state.

The letter entitled, ‘Ministerial Appointment: Why Appointing Akpabio Maybe Counter Productive’, was signed by the Executive Vice President of the group, Dr. Asuquo Edidem Etim, and copied to the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, the secretary to the government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, and the chief of staff to the president, Abba Kyari.

The letter tagged Akpabio as a “destabilising agent”.

Akpabio, who is a former governor of the state on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), only defected to the ruling APC shortly before the 2019 general election in which he contested to return to the Senate but lost.

The group stated that the “same Senator Akpabio that in years past had been yours and our party’s nemesis cannot suddenly become the gadfly of your political generosity”.

According to them, “Akwa Ibom State boasts of men of immense integrity who can fit into the ministerial positions to help realise the Next Level agenda of the APC government”.

Part of the letter reads: “Mr President, this second mandate affords you the opportunity to select your ministers in a manner that will ensure that they do not become liabilities to your government or dent your impeccable image.

“Characters with known corruption allegations or propensity for pettiness, mischief, treachery, profligacy and vendetta, should be avoided. Senator Godswill Akpabio, unfortunately, is one of such integrity deficient individuals.

“Akpabio is a destabilising agent. The poor showing of APC in Akwa Ibom State in the last general election was to a large extent as a result of the destabilising and authoritarian tendencies of Senator Akpabio, who only believes that it’s either his way or nobody’s.

“Many had thought that his joining APC would bring cool breeze of good fortunes to the party in the state, but rather his highhanded nature and disrespect for internal democracy in the party and the will of the people to choose their leaders, became a raging storm that uprooted the recognised structures of the party right from the grassroots, as he imposed party leaders from the wards and even unit levels. Leaving many party men and women very bruised, trampled and disgruntled. This sadly affected the chances of our governorship candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere”, the group alleged.

While noting that Akwa Ibom has many “respectable, level-headed” personalities that would represent the state with grace at the federal executive, the elders also pointed out the enviable qualities of party leaders such as the outgoing Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma, noting that “he’s done creditably in the past four years”.

The group added: “In terms of loyalty to the party and contributions to its development in the state, we have party men, including Chief Umana Umana and Senator John Udoedehe, among others, who had toiled to keep the party afloat over time in the state.”

It continued: “Akpabio’s uncommon profligacy in public office as governor in Akwa Ibom State is well known in political circles.

“We plead with you, Mr. President, to save our dear state Akwa Ibom from a potential ugly scenario, similar to that of Rivers State, between Gov. Wike and Amaechi, that has turned the state into a battlefield of blood and destruction, fuelled by ego and avoidable rivalry, especially, as the drumbeat of supremacy war and vendetta is already being fine-tuned, with claim of a ‘federal powerhouse in waiting’, by his gang. His propensity for violence is well documented in the state.

“Watch the video clips of all the names he called you just few years back in the name of a political campaign as governor. Find out who drove your party, our party into the bush throughout his days as governor, fanned by his dictatorial mien and intolerance disposition towards the opposition.

“Be guided by the fact that our poor outing in the first free and fair elections ever conducted in Akwa Ibom State, the 2019 general elections, was the aftermath of overwhelming state-wide revolt against Akpabio and what he represents.”

The group described the senator’s defection to the ruling party as “unfortunate” and “treacherous”, adding that the former Senate minority leader “sneaked into our party to achieve a long-held dream of stopping an APC victory in the state.”

It pointed out that Akpabio had only recently and boldly told global television viewers that he “did not decamp from PDP but moved”.

“A chameleon does not ever hide its colours, Mr. President,” the group warned.Image may contain: one or more people, people sitting and indoor

Mr Vice President and the #RottenFlyingJet

6 Feb

By Sam Itauma

In times like this, I appreciate God for saving the life of Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo in a helicopter crash for the second. I mean the second time!
Needless trading barbs and allegation of any fetish enchantment or plot to eliminate Mr VP for this mishap. Honestly speaking, many love Mr VP including yours truly

Looking at past antecedents, one could genuinely conclude that an old, unserviced flying jet was used to fly the number 2 man in the country. We cannot continue to blame an illusory spirit for our failures, dooms and man-made disasters. Perhaps, we do so because of our mental poverty and delusional belief in magic wand by our handicapped leaders to transform our woes to Eldorado.

The rot in the system is unmitigated and remains unchallenged. We are seeing a country where lip-service is deployed to fighting corruption. It is corruption that would have eliminated Professor Osinbajo and not any spiritual power or a group of power-seeking individuals. The lack of maintenance culture and diversion of maintenance funds are just part of the indices that would continue to bring about such heart-wrenching scenarios.

This country enjoys the rot it is suffering from; glorifies and eulogizes the elitist thieves that handed down it worsening maladies but rush to hang flaming tires around the neck of the little thief who pilfers a thin of sardine or an old woman whose child is dying of HIV/AIDS after being accused of practising sorcery.

Former Governor Rotimi Amaechi now a serving minister had told us for the umpteenth time that we are the reason our leaders are stealing our money and hoist poverty on us. And because we are not taking action, the stealing, the mismanagement and our woes will continue. I strongly believe him.

Mr VP should wake up and see the need to correct the anomaly and save millions from dying, including himself.
Wishing you a quick recovery, Mr Vice President!

Buhari’s Gunmen Kill Former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh

19 Dec

A former Chief of Defense Staff, Alex Badeh, has been killed by President Muhamadu Buhari’s gunmen.

He was said to have been ambushed by the gunmen loyal to Buhari’s government at Gitata village, along the Keffi-Abuja  Road..

The military has since recovered his body.

According to Reno Omokri, one of Buhari’s Twitter assailants, Badeh did not leave any stone unturned while heaping diatribe against  President and his inept government.

“Ex-chief of Defense Staff, Alex Badeh, strong critic of the @MBuhari government, was just assassinated along Abuja-Keffi Rd. This is a man who knew a lot about the inner workings of this government. His death must be investigated. It is too convenient. You may be next” Mr. Omokri tweeted

Badeh was a retired four star flag officer of the Nigerian Air Force who served as the 18th Chief of Air Staff (Oct 4, 2012- January 16,2014) and the 15th Chief of Defence Staff of the armed forces of Nigeria (January 16, 2014 – July 13,2015)

In February 2016, Badeh, due to his volume of critism on Buhari, he  was accused of financial misappropriation by the EFCC. He denied involvement in any misconduct, even as no evidence was brought against him

Ugandan President, Blasts Buhari Saying He Is The Most Useless President That Ever Happens To That Great Country Nigeria And Africa.

30 Jul

The president of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, has blasted president Buhari as the most useless President that ever happens to that great country Nigeria.

According to YOWERI, a leader should not expose his citizens, Nigeria is a great and outstanding country in Africa because of the youth of that country.

Our people have an Africanized social life all over Africa is because Nigerian youth put their full hardworking efforts, look at the movie industry and most outstanding the music industry.

Buhari can never outgrow the slave and masters mentality, He keeps talking bad about his people any time he makes a trip, he said.

Britain is there to exploit and steal just what they are known for. He seizes to understand that Britain created that country and gave it all the flaws that will never make it grow beyond a limit.

According to YOWERI, Nigerians will vote him out it is obvious there is nothing Britain can do about it. If he Tries to annul or rig the election he will face a wide loss of legitimacy. Nigerians are patiently waiting to send him back to retirement, YOWERI MUSEVENI said.

NIGERIAN REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY UNDER ASSAULT WITH BUHARI:

30 Jul
By Dr. Inyang Oduok

Where are you going, Lord? Simon Peter Asked Jesus. “You cannot follow me now where I am going” Jesus answered Simon Peter, but later you will follow me.

Jesus knew he was on the way to the cross and advised Simon Peter against following him at the peril of his life. He knew Simon Peter could not endure the sufferings he was just about to go through on the cross.

The just-concluded Ekiti governorship race provokes similar question that Simon Peter asked Jesus, where is our nation heading to?

The result of the EKITI governorship race where APC is said to have defeated P.D.P. incumbent governor of the state, whose performances in office and personal attributes have never been questioned nor in doubt, provides disturbing and bleak answers as to what direction the Buhari Presidency is taking the country.

The incumbent governor is reported to have lost the election amidst widespread rigging, ballot stuffing, violence, murders, abuses and misuse of national law enforcement powers by Buhari administration.

Information reaching us is that it was like Buhari’s APC was marching to war and conquests. He dispatched in excess of 400, 000.00 armed officers to EKITI state during the governorship race. This cast a heavy shadow over the head of state’s intent in states such as Rivers, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom states in the coming 2019 Presidential, Governorship, Senate, and House races.

Lawless acts taken in violation of free and fair election Act is void and so is the election result- the direct product of such unlawful acts. That Buhari administration has declared the election free and fair is of no consequence.

We saw it coming people. The concept of a representative democracy in Nigeria is over with a dictator as the head of state.

Ekiti governorship race is a harbinger of what lies ahead for the country. Our future is uncertain in the hands of a tyrant.

Buhari is on the move to undermine every institution that gives our representative democracy its true meaning.

We venture to predict that should the trend continue to 2019 Presidential and Governorship races, we will inevitably find the nation consumed in another bloody civil war.

Dr. Inyang Oduok

IGP’s REPLY TO SARAKI

THE FULL LETTER

Letter of Invitation; Case of Offa robbery and gruesome murder of more than 31 persons and snatching of 21 AK47 Rifles on the 5th of April, 2018

I refer to this office letter CR:3000/IGP.SEC/ABJ/VOL./130/571 dated 4th June 2018 and your letter of response NASS/8th/S/SP/lGP/15/6/18 dated 7th June 2018 on the above subject matter (copies attached) and to further restate as follows.

Recall that the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) is investigating a case of Armed Robbery which occurred on the 5th of April, 2018 during which a gang of dare devil Armed Robbers, stormed Offa, Kwara State and attacked a Police Station, robbed six Banks namely First Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, ECO Bank, Zenith Bank, Union Bank and lbolo Micro Finance Bank, killed over thirty one (31) Persons including nine Police officers and pregnant women and snatching twenty (21) AK47 n’fles.

During the investigation of the Armed Robbery by the Intelligence Response Team, a CCTV footage of the Armed Robbery in one of the banks, captured the image of two persons. The CCTV footage was circulated on the social media and this led to their identification as Kunle Ogunleye and Micheal Adikwu. The two persons were tracked and arrested by the Police and they made very useful statements and named the five gang leaders who organized the Armed Robbery.

Some of the five gang leaders made confessional statements admitting their participation in this worst Armed Robbery in the history of Nigeria and that they are political thugs under the name, Youth Liberation Movement aka ‘Good boys’ allegedly sponsored by you and that you have given them firearms, money and vehicles. It was equally discovered that one of the vehicles, a Lexus Jeep, used by the gang leader (Ayoade Akinnibosun) has a sticker plate number ‘SARAKI Kwara State of Harmony’.

The Lexus Jeep was parked in the Government House after the arrest of Ayoade Akinnibosun and in order to conceal evidence, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, arranged for the removal of the sticker plate number ‘SARAKI Kwara State of Harmony’ from the Lexus jeep and quickly registered it in the name of the suspect, six days after the suspect has been arrested by the Police.

Specifically, Mr Ayoade Akinnibosun ‘m’ 27 Years in his Confessional Statement stated that “members of his group are Political Thugs working for Senator Bukola Saraki and Governor of Kwara State”; that he is the head of the Political Thugs named Youths Liberation Movement covering about seven (7) Local Governments Areas of Kwara South; that he gets vehicle and monetary gifts etc from Senator Bukola Saraki through the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kwara State; that the last money he got directly from Senator Bukola Saraki was Five Hundred Thousand (N500,000) Naira.

He made mention of some other thugs in Kwara Central with guns whom Senator Bukola Saraki is sponsoring as Alhaji Alawo, Alhaji Dona, Alhaji Jawando among others, that Senator Bukola Saraki supplies the arms and vehicles to the thugs; that everyone in Kwara Central fear them because of their guns and ability to kill anybody without hesitation.

Furthermore, the suspect Ayoade Akinm’bosun stated that the date you Senator Saraki visited Offa in sympathy with the victims to the Palace of the Oba, that he and two other gang members were with you in the convoy.

In your response to the above allegations, you stated: “By virtue of my participation in politics, I have a large followership which makes it impossible for me to know all of them. I can say categorically that I am in no way associated with the vehicle mentioned in your letter nor have I given any arms to any thug or other persons in kwara State or anywhere else. For the records, your letter under reference did not include the full text of the statements made by the accused persons.”

After a careful perusal of your letter to the Police, it was discovered that the statement requires further clarification and coupled with the fact that you stated that the full text of the statements of the suspects were not shown to you, it is imperative you report to the Police to make further statements after giving you the full text of the statements of the suspects.

It is in line with the above that you are requested to report to the head of the Investigation Team at the Intelligence Response Team at Guzape Junction, Asokoro Extension Abuja on 24th of July, 2018 at 8am for further investigation on the matter.”

BREAKING News!!! I Don’t Know My NYSC Exemption Certificate Was Forged. Someone Did It For Me. – Kemi Adeosun, Finance Minister.

Kemi Adeosun – Disgraced Minister of Finance

After about two weeks after the abnormalities surrounding the embattled Finance Minister, Ms. Kemi Adeosun, she has broken her silence. Adeosun narrated that she did not apply for the exemption herself and not aware that what the ‘agent’ gave her was not from NYSC.

I was born in London and also had all of my education there. I graduated at 22 and started working immediately. When I returned to Nigeria in the 2000s, I knew about the national labour law requirements, including NYSC participation or exemption, but didn’t know how to go about it.

I relied on 3rd parties to assist and it looks like they took inappropriate steps. I am shocked and equally embarrassed to learn about this. I should have checked before now and I accept the blame for their wrongdoing because they acted on my behalf.

I accept full responsibility for this incident and regret that it even happened in the first place. I am prepared to do whatever that is required to redeem these grave errors.

I regret any inconvenience that this may have caused the government which I currently serve and the good people of Nigeria. Kemi Adeosun

The Allegation against her has now been proved to be true. Kemi forged her NYSC exemption certificate. She has only one option left and this is to resign.

THE VERDICT: APC JUST LOST THE EKITI GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

12 Jul

Politics is a game for the wise and the foolish, but who eventually wins is the one with the smarts. For months now, the intrigues of parties participating in the Ekiti gubernatorial election have dominated the nation’s news cycle. It’s normal because the election is happening at a time no other election is scheduled. It’s come down to Governor Ayodele Fayose putting forward his deputy, Professor Kolapo Olusola for the position and strongly standing by him, while the APC and the federal forces have lined up behind Kayode Fayemi, a former governor, who lost all 16 Local Governments of the state to Fayose in 2014. In the intervening period, Fayose has been a torn in the flesh of the federal forces and a sort of battering ram for the PDP that lost the presidency.
Up to this point, the race has been too close to call. Fayemi has attempted to present himself as a new man. When he picked up his party’s ticket, he apologized to the Ekiti people for his mistakes in the past because he was seen as aloof and arrogant, something unforgivable in politics. Yet, in his march towards taking the ticket, he exhibited all the characteristics of a bully, all the arrogance and pomposity of someone who thinks stolen money and federal power will win it for him. He used these blatantly at the party primary and now, at the real election level, they’ve wheeled in all the instruments of violence, force and coercion into Ekiti. However, possibly unknown to them is the fact that the militarization of the state before the election is a signal that Fayemi’s party is desperate. Fayose has taken to playing the politics of the underdog punching above his weight and despite his many faults, he’s kept a tight ship and a consistent message, which is that the federal forces are presenting Fayemi as the Trojan Horse to conquer Ekiti state.
Then, Buhari and the APC bigwigs came calling. And now what have we got? The federal forces trying to humiliate a sitting governor by using force against him! He wants to do a rally and the police are saying they would have none of it. There is no law stopping the PDP from doing any rally today when the election is still Saturday, but they would not allow him. They barricaded Fayose and his supporters inside Ekiti Government House. Whether on the street or inside Government House, teargas was used. The earlier pictures on social media are showing Fayose sitting on the ground suffering effect of tear gas, surrounded by some seemingly frantic others. Some of his opponents are all guffawing at what they consider to be some amateurish drama. How is it that only Fayose amongst those standing with him and captured on camera is suffering this dramatic effect of tear gas? How is it he’s the only one being reported to have been taken to hospital?Image result for ekiti election
Okay, I have made inquiries with people on the ground in Ekiti and they are all saying it really happened and that Fayose was not the only one affected by the tear gas, but that he was the one people not affected ran to when it happened and all that. Some sent me other pictures of people they said were affected and all. But in all honesty, I was not about to determine the validity of all these since they were all still shots and not videos, but now videos are circulating showing it’s worse than we thought. At any rate, whatever anyone thinks, the only unquestioned part of the whole story, even from known APC supporters I spoke to is that there was in fact teargasing. Indeed, the case of the APC supporters who claim to be on the ground is that it was not such a heavy teargasing that could have affected Fayose the way he’s making out. Amidst guffaws, one of the fellows told me Fayose was rehearsing for his post-governorship career in Nollywood.
But, they miss the point. Whether Fayose is acting up or not is not the issue. The issue is that the federal forces ostensibly put on the ground to ensure a secure, free and fair election have showed their hands and it is not a good show. There was no reason to barricade the Government House; there was no reason to be lured into a Fayose trap, if indeed it was a trap. There was no reason to dispense teargas anywhere around there or near anywhere the governor was! It’s never happened in the history of our country! Whenever high-handedness had been applied against a governor who disagrees with Abuja, they’ve used the mechanism of the law, even when totally mangled to effect their aim; it’s never come to physical force against the governor or around him. A governor is not a slave of the president or federal forces. He is the executive head of a federating unit of the federation with all powers therein. There is a reason the Constitution grants the governor immunity; he’s protected by our laws against anything like this. This should not happen to him or around him, especially when perpetrators can be proved to be persons or security officials acting at the behest of Abuja.
Now, does anyone at the federal level fighting this Ekiti election on behalf of Fayemi think this will win them any vote? Do they think any genuine Ekiti person seeing their governor and their state humiliated like this would be clapping and hailing them for a job well done? Well, except for those who’ve taken partisanship beyond common sense, I do not see many supporting them. They have just lost this election because no matter how they frame this, it is out there that the Buhari presidency is treating Ekiti like a conquered territory and as far as people still have their PVCs, they will fight back. Why, because the national political atmosphere does not favour the APC amidst the hardship and all the killings going on in the nation under their watch and with the president unable to hide his bias for the killers. Whatever anyone thinks of Fayose, majority of the Ekiti people see him as their protector against the rampaging herdsmen via his anti-open grazing law and his proactive actions against elements who want to flout it. The last thing you would expect is for people accused of being thieves to be found with the blood of the stolen meat dripping from their mouths. APC just nailed it’s own coffin. What we see here is enough to send them back to the wilderness in Ekiti. And no, it may not be because they ordered it or want it; it would be because they allowed themselves to come out on the wrong side of the optics.
Image result for ekiti election
Yes, optics matter in politics and they’ve just given Fayose the opportunity to not only create it, but to also define the immediate post-election narrative on his terms, while putting the APC off their game. That’s a huge unforced error, a terrible giveaway by APC! For instance, whether in support or against, this would be the talk in Ekiti before the election. Not every voter is on social media or savvy enough to look at things beyond what they are told. Most would buy the more dramatic versions and spread them far and near. What most rural voters would be hearing is that Buhari attempted to kill their governor when he sent in his goons to attack him and bomb him at Government House. They will hear that their governor escaped an assassination attempt and is now in hospital. Meanwhile, I’m hearing there are processions going to the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti palace to protest this. In the midst of this drama, the APC message will never be heard. They will not add one single vote to their tally, but the PDP might be winning the sympathy vote and some via the propagandization of this matter. In a close election, these little margins matter.
In my view, the APC has scored an own goal and the referee is waiting to blow the final whistle after this tight game where no one had seemed capable of making any headway. For Ekiti people, this is no longer about Fayemi; it’s about sending a message to Buhari and his goons that they are not a conquered people. No matter the machinations of the APC, including any attempt at rigging, this is already a lost cause. I, Kennedy Emetulu, a Nigerian, have called the election for the governorship of Ekiti State for the PDP candidate, Professor Kolapo Olusola. You heard it here first. Thank me later.
NB: There’s a caveat. There are things I know APC can do right now to turn this around or limit the damage significantly, but, unfortunately for them, I do not support the APC in this election, even though I’m not exactly a PDP supporter as well. So, no, I wont give the suggestion here for free. They should go and think and try to save their hide (I’m guessing anything they think up on their own will be tantamount to them digging themselves deeper). As things are, this election has been won and lost already.
