AKPABIO, HIS #THREATS AND GLOBAL CONCORD’S HEADLINES

He that is down needed fear no fall
He that is low, no pride
He that is humble ever shall
Have God to be his guide

I am content with what I have
Little be it or much
And, Lord, contentment still I crave
Because thou savest, such.
– John Bunyan (1628 – 88).

About 7 days ago, about 3 hours after I made public my genuine advice to Senator Godswill Akpabio, I received a call from the former Governor, Akpabio, himself. The man was furious, extremely furious with me for writing what he called “insult and destructive article” about him. He vowed to go extra miles to deal with me, especially as he recalled how I used Global Concord in the past against him and his Government. He said he had alerted “security” agencies to track me down… He didn’t give me the chance to talk, only that I was able to tell him that if he was referring to my last article about him that I’m afraid he didn’t read it before he came to roar and barked at me. His utterances that day advertised him as one of those who only read the cover page of Global Concord Newspaper and run to town with stories that can never be found in any page of the Paper (I may be wrong). Can the dethroned Senator points to any libellous statement in the said piece?

Anyway, I’m not bothered about Akpabio’s threats because they will always come insofar as he has not been able to explain why he could not build 31 industries which were captured in his so-called BUDGET OF INDUSTRIALIZATION in 2012. Senator Akpabio will bark all he wants, and threaten me as usual unless he is able to tell me why IBOM TROPICANA has not seen the light of day after all the money budgeted for it had been removed upfront from the State’s coffers, and supplementary sum appropriated for it, and also removed from the treasury. Of course, many other issues in the State are calling for Akpabio’s series of threats. WHO CARES?

Between 2008 and 2015 I was not only threatened by Akpabio but I saw it all. I was hunted by his “security agents”. I was severally chased out of my numerous apartments and I finally found refuge at Calabar. So, what’s new about Akpabio’s threats? If he could threaten me as a Governor without success, will he succeed to do that now that GLORY HAS DEPARTED FROM HIM? He told me last Friday that he was going to face me ” man and man, one on one”. I’m here, Sir.Image may contain: 1 person, closeup

Since the threat didn’t suffice, Senator Akpabio immediately resorts to blackmails. What condescension! He sponsored some beggars to write that “I am envious of Akpabio”. Why should I envy a man whose character is luciferous? To envy is to want other places, and I can’t fathom becoming like Akpabio who has polarized the State with his nepotism and clannishness. I can’t be capitalistic like Akpabio, and I can’t humiliate my fellow Akwa Ibom people just because I am opportune. In fact, there are many other negative Akpabios in Akpabio that I don’t like to be associated with, hence, the issue of envy of Akpabio is idiotic!

Still on envy, the disjointed article under reference, purportedly written by one Abasiandikan Nkono goes on to state that “on 28 May 1968 (51 years ago), 53 illustrious sons/political leaders/core intelligentsia of Akwa Ibom origin were publicly slaughtered at Uyo Circus (now Ibom Plaza) before school children – others were killed en masse and dumped in mass graves and ravines around the land for holding a different political view before and during the civil war”, and that the same envy/ hatred is what propelled me to want to “shot down Akpabio by all means”; AND I ASK: AM I FROM IKOT EKPENE SENATORIAL DISTRICT? DID I ASK AKPABIO TO LEAVE THE KNOWN TO THE UNKNOWN? DID I ASK AKPABIO TO FISH POLITICAL ENEMIES FOR HIMSELF ACROSS THE COUNTRY? DID I START HIS WAR WITH AMAECHI, SARAKI, ETC? DID I ASK HIM TO INSULT GENERAL BUHARI IN 2015? AKPABIO SHOT HIMSELF AT THE FEET!

Citing John 4:44, the author of that inordinate article seems to suggest that Akpabio is honoured and respected across the country or in other parts of the country than in his home state, and I ask BY WHO? There is a great difference between bought honour and deserved honour. While as the Governor, Akpabio used our common patrimony to buy awards and honours. He received more than 4 Honorary Doctorate Degrees from four Universities across the country. He bought an award from the US Congress Woman, he spent Millions of Naira on Nollywood, etc. He bought awards/honours from Emirs, Obas, Market women, churches, Traditional rulers, etc. He funded Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and bought buses for the varsity for awards while our own universities were grown with grasses. Shame on such honours! The bought honours by Akpabio were spells in the eyes of Nigerians, and they’ve long thrown them to the pigs because what is not of God cannot stand.

The Akpabio’s rejoinder also insinuates that whether as Governor or Senator, Akpabio has given people reasons not to forget him. THIS IS TRUE! How can people forget a man who manned a regime where people were killed and kidnapped like frogs? How can people forget in a hurry about 300 people that were kidnapped, and about 40 that were brutally killed between 2007 and 2014? How can we forget that he did nothing to curb the menace of kidnapping and poverty in the land despite Billions of Naira in his control? No, we can’t forget!

It is very insulting for Senator Akpabio, through his conversation with me, and through the sponsored rejoinder, to insinuate that I am sponsored to write against him. How? In the so-called rejoinder, he insinuates that I am sponsored by Senator Akpanudoedehe. This is irrational! From the very first time, I met Udoedehe till now he has never sponsored any of my writings. I am a very independent person who doesn’t need help or guidance from anybody. In 2015 I supported Umana Umana (after nomination, though) against Udoedehe’s interest. I stood my grounds, and we parted ways. I write what I feel like writing, but in the best interest of Akwa Ibom people. Senator Akpabio also threatened me that “after insulting him, I WILL WANT HIM TO SUPPORT MY GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANT IN 2023”. Wow! How does he know who I will support in 2023?

I laughed uncontrollably when I read the paragraph in that disjointed rejoinder that “Senator Udoedehe recently approached Senator Akpabio with a proposal purportedly written by Thomas Thomas, the Publisher of Global Concord Newspaper”. Thank God the author of that rejoinder uses the word ” purportedly”, meaning he is not sure if it’s true. He goes on to state that Thomas Thomas et al, besides pledging a termination of the media attacks on Akpabio, also promised to henceforth take up Akpabio’s reputation management. That I and my colleagues made this proposal due to dwindling sales of Global Concord and demanded that Akpabio should instead be funding the paper to the tune of N20 Million monthly. That Akpabio turned down the purported proposal and told Udoedehe that he was not interested in 2023 governorship or in Ministerial position. HABA! This is hogwash! Me, Thomas Thomas? Maybe another member of Global Concord has done that without my knowledge because as far as I’m concerned I see nothing good in Akpabio’s bruised image… I did not get a dime from Akpabio as a Governor, is it now that I will? He should rather keep the money to bribe the EFCC and not me. To hell with his stolen cash!

It is insulting for a man who came to Akwa Ibom Government in a night bus, and allegedly stolen every available kobo and brought down prominent Ibibio sons, to say I came begging for money. I will advise him to always look at the face of any person he deals with so that he will not come to the public and disgrace himself as he does. I will never befriend Akpabio… LEST I FORGET, 1ST JULY IS AROUND THE CORNER!

As 57,000 Results Came Out For Kidnapping and Assassination Relating To The Ukana Man Known As Warsaw Or Judas, Ichabod.
One of the headlines read:
Nigeria: ‘Akwa-Ibom Recorded 1000 Politically Motivated Crimes with Killings in 8 Years of Godswill Akpabio.
Leave a good legacy so that posterity will reckon well with you.

The time Akpabio was killing, maiming and kidnapping people as well as destroying people’s business were you not alive to advise him? In those headlines capturing Akpabio’s atrocities, did you see my name that I wrote any? I will continue to research and bring to bear the wickedness of bad people in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria so that others will learn and refrain from committing havoc. There’s nothing anybody will do to me. Simple!

You need not wait for anything that you already know the truth about. Nobody wants to bring Godswill Akpabio down. He’s the one bringing himself down with his double standard, fraudulent traits and violent nature. He is a traitor, Judas and devil incarnate. A killer per excellence!
What evidence are you asking for as if you were not around when Albert Ukpanah challenged Akpabio about his senatorial ambition, the following month, Akpabio sent his killer squad to murder him in his house then falsely accused his son Odudu Ukpanah. Odudu was incarcerated for almost a year. Oyong Asuquo, Akpabio’s friend whom Akpabio disagreed with on political issues, the next day Asuquo was killed in broad daylight.
The Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubium and Oku Ibom Ibibio, HRM, Obong Robert Obot, who openly opposed Akpabio’s second term bid on account of Akpabio’s ethnic bigotry and refusal spread projects in other local government areas, within a week, Akpabio sent gunmen who slaughtered him.
So sad again to behold, an Ibibio son who’s based Europe, Iniekong Udonwa indicated his interest to run for Governor against Akpabio, when he arrived home to launch his campaign, Akpabio sent gunmen to his kill. They shot several bullets at him. Though he escaped by whiskers, he did not go unscathed. He sustained injuries from multiple gunshots. Akpabio became furious and redirected the gunmen to kill his elderly mother. The old woman was dragged naked on the streets, murdered and dismembered.
Gloria Udo, the lady who befriended one of the killers who was police and bodyguard to Akpabio was a witness to the crime. Akpabio ordered the police to kill her to erase traces.
Nsima Ekere’s father recently published a memoir of his kidnapping experience as a victim, he did not only accused former Governor Godswill Akpabio of orchestrating his kidnapping and torture, he challenged Akpabio to dare to deny it.
Captain Sam Enwang, was a victim of Akpabio’s kidnapping spree.
The list is endless. Let Akpabio go to any level that he wants, but we no longer want him in our state for next level killing or kidnapping which Akpabio is notorious for.
The Akpabio’s phantom development stride you’re talking about. I’ll respond to that soonNo photo description available. No photo description available. No photo description available.

2023: APC SHOULD BE GUIDED BY HISTORY (There can never be politics without history) #PoliticsOfMurdering

24 Mar
Dost thou still bemoan thy fall
And think thy weary self undone?
Think again, O mortal man,
And know that since this world began
Men and stars have fallen low
And living things have ceased to grow
– DENNIS OSADEBAY

The year, 2023, is still far, and the politics of that year is still in the embryo, why then should one start beating the drum now? For the first time in my life I have to align with the thought of the Akwa Ibom State PDP Chairman, Obong Paul Ekpo who recently issued a statement against the commencement of 2023 campaign by some politicians when the 2019 dispensation is yet to be inaugurated.

But then, the Ibibio people say, “NDUNÓÑÑÓ ITEM EFERE ÓFÓN KE OWO MM’ISINNE IKPAÑ”. I would not dare say what I’m going to say here if I’ve not learnt from history, and if I am not bent on seeing that majority of our people, especially those I happen to share a party platform with, benefit from the lessons of history. I have always said, and I am still of the opinion, that POLITICS CANNOT BE PLAYED WELL WITHOUT HISTORY. For example, if a party repeats the mistakes it did in 2019 in 2023 failure is her other name because no miracle can give her victory.

I wish APC well, hence I must say this: 8 years ago, the founders and founding members of the “Broom Party” in Akwa Ibom State were ambushed at Ikot Ekpene after series of threats were issued by the likes of Chief Sunny Ibanga (who circumstances and or Providence has brought into the very party he was against). Some of us were killed; some were wounded. Yours truly had to run from Ikot Ekpene to Uyo. In fact, how I did it I can’t recall, but I remember vividly that the bus I boarded was razed to ashes. I witnessed how people were killed. Majority of those who planned and executed the inhuman act are now in the APC, including the beneficiaries of the act. Chief Godswill Akpabio was the beneficiary in chief!

The doyen of Nigerian history, Professor Obaro Ikime, in his latest book, titled: “CAN ANYTHING GOOD COME OUT OF HISTORY?”, published in 2018, says “… the historian does not ply this profession in vacuo. He or she does not write for writing sake! He or she writes knowing that what he or she writes is of value to his or her nation….” He goes on to say that “the value of History is, in a sense, eternal. The issues which the historian decides to concentrate on are thrown up by the challenges which confront the society in which he or she lives….” The history I want my party to rely on as we are coasting to 2023 is the mayhem of March 22, 2011, where those in Akwa Ibom State Government then wanted to kill the progressives in their bid to crush opposition in the State. Blood was the feature of Akwa Ibom State and her politics. Kidnapping and assassination were the only HEADLINE NEWS from and or in Akwa Ibom State. From 2007, the Governor then, through the promptings of some so-called men of God who admonished that “a king must kill to maintain his throne”, was akin to Idi Amin of Uganda. There was no peace in Akwa Ibom State. I was always in hiding. Even some of my supposed colleagues did not know me because I needed to disguise to fight that war in the way I can.

Should our party, the APC forget this history? Why should they forget that Senator John Udoedehe was almost killed in Ikot Ekpene? Why should they forget that Mrs. Justina Udoedehe was almost killed in her Ikot Inyang hometown in Ikot Ekpene? Should they forget Group Captain Sampson Ewang who was humiliated by some of those who recently swarmed into the party? How can they forget that Mandators (Victor Essiet) almost lost his life for this same cause? In fact, it is still a shock to me because his car was attacked and destroyed by thugs… Don’t they know that a lot of people are in the grave prematurely because of this party? This brazen fight against history in our party, or this pretence to forget history in a hurry, is the reason we keep moving around, and or within, a circle – And we may continue to do so if the Nannies’ meal is again given to the dogs in 2023. The people are watching… They are not fools!

At this point, may I use this medium to pray that the soul of those killed in Ikot Ekpene on March 22, 2011, for daring to campaign to free this State from bondage and political ineptitude rest in peace! And may the souls of those killed in Ibiono Ibom, too, two days before that of Ikot Ekpene, also rest in peace. May those killed in that inglorious era rest in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ… Amen!Image may contain: 2 people, people sittingImage may contain: 1 person, sunglasses, hat and outdoorImage may contain: 1 person, outdoorImage may contain: one or more people and people standing

Assassination of Albert Ukpanah, A Pyrrhic Victory.

23 Mar
By Clayton Udoh.
Victory attained by violence, is equal in value to defeat
because it is momentary –Mahatma Ghandi.
Image
I say this with great danger to me and my family. We cannot live in fear of what men can do. We all must die one day and that includes the Assassin. We must insist on what is right as a record for posterity.Abak’s demise is just deplorable and it enforces a really
bad proverb about “Abak Ntukeyen Ntukeyen” (Abak has no true elders)!
Between the 1870’s to the early 1920’s we have recorded history

of Abak being a very tough place to subdue. Abak was a very tough place to oppress.

The British Colonial Masters encountered very strong resistance from this region,

This is recorded by the Colonial Masters and in their mind it was intense and maybe

unified with the Arochukwu Confederacy resistance.
Now fast forward and we have an Abak in which a senate slot
seat will be taken away from them and given to a sector that would never allow
vice versa in a million years.
Let’s be real, nobody in Abak would ever be able to “seize”
a senate slot seat from the Ikot Ekpene –
Essien Udim-Obot Akara axis in a million years.

That’s bad enough as it is but killing people to add to the
stupendous situation is just downright nauseating.
Abak 5 should not end up becoming the toilet seat of
Annangland ! Abak should not become the place in which you can take the senatoe’s
seat and then kill as much people as you
like and then leave smiling and laughing at Abak. The so called “elders” have a

very serious problem in their hands. They are in danger of coming out of this

election cycle as the laughing stock of the land. The new proverb will be,”

Ours is better than Abak that lost its Senate seat and had all their elders

executed”.

The assassination of Chief Albert Ukpanah is just the tip

of the iceberg. The system has been designed that assassins cannot be caught

and the command chain cannot be traced. In the same way anybody can be executed

and since the chain of command cannot be traced anybody can call for an assassination

on behalf of political advantage. There is no amount of “Chiefdom” that can

save anybody from assassination nowadays because their master has no respect

for the integrity and dignity of others. The more shocking the assassination, the

more effective in instilling fear in the populace which is the petrol for fueling

mass sycophancy.
Question for the elders: What prevents the other side from assassinating

you guys for just demanding the sellout money? It is better you guys took a

stand because receiving money or refusing to do so will not save you from assassination.

Actually the assassination of all of you may end up being the cheaper option.

People have always seen me as a traitor of the Annangs because

I am not a blind supporter of Godswill Akpabio. I have taken my stand because I

know that government has a limit to its own tribal affinities (especially this

government). If I was in the way of

anybody’s ambition would it matter if was an Annang man? I would be as good as
dead.
However I wonder who advises Godswill Akpabio? You have so
many people in Ibibioland rooting for your failure. Never in my life have I
seen one person with so many enemies. So where do you go when you start executing
your own Annang people? Is your consolation that they are not from the Ikot
Ekpene-Essien Udim-Obot Akara axis?
Sycophants may applaud but in the world of sane men it
raises eyebrows, if so many people have to die for you to become Governor or a member
of the House of Reps, then so many people have to die for you to become Senator
and then so many will have to die before you become the Vice President and so
on and so forth. In the end, my question would be,” Does blood taste that good?”
Who is advising Godswill Akpabio and his political allies?
Here in the USA nobody dies in the election cycle. It is
you who claims Chief Security Officer of the state as the Governor. Can you
ever back up your claim of Chief Security Officer by having an election in
which nobody dies?
If the so called elders of Abak cannot protect the integrity
of the land and decide to be sellouts for the sake of money to buy Garri to
eat, the damage that will be done will last for ages to come.
What gives me the bravery to talk about the situation at
hand is the fact that nobody is safe in the present dispensation. It does not
matter, how old you are or who you are.

NEVERTHELESS WE DO NOT DESERVE THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS
THAT COMES WHEN ONE OF US IS DRAGGED TO THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE FOR ASSASSINATION. A
SILENCE BASED ON FEAR THAT EATS AWAY ON THE INTEGRITY AND DIGNITY OF A PERSON.
A FEAR THAT REDUCES US TO A LEVEL OF COWS HUMBLY AWAITING SLAUGHTER WHILE
HOPING THAT THE OUTCOME WILL BE SURVIVAL.
I DO NOT CARE ABOUT HOW MANY PROFESSIONALS LIVE IN AKWA
IBOM STATE. Your education is a shame if your right to live has been taken away
from you and you cower in fear.
No matter the excuses you have, fear is a choice! Acceptance
of the Status Quo imposed on the people is your choice.

Blame Akpabio for Assassination of Ukpanah.

Gov Akpabio shifts governorship to ESDAkwa Ibom State Politics: The Assassination of Albert Ukpanah—Blame Godswill Akpabio!
As it happened to Chief Paul Inyang, Edidem James Obot, Barrister Udonwa, and many others, on Wednesday, March 13, 2014, Chief Albert Ukpanah was assassinated in his home. His assailant, or assailants, fled the scene, leaving more tears in the eyes and anguish on the faces of his loved ones.
Until his assassination, Chief Albert Ukpanah was one of the strongest voices against the unjust, corrupt, murderous, and evil administration of Godswill Obot Akpabio. Late in the evening of Wednesday the 13th of March 2014, he was watching a football (soccer) match with his son when he received a telephone call from a person who was very likely to be someone whom Chief Ukpanah knew very well.
The caller told Chief Ukpanah that he and his colleagues were on their way to his house because an important visitor wanted to have a meeting with him. Ukpanah instructed his son to open the gate to his house for the visitors. After the son had served them with refreshments, he retired to another section of the house to continue watching the English League Football game. During the half-time intermission, the son returned to check on the father and his visitors, only to find his father in a pool of blood; he had been shot and his visitors had fled.
Those who knew him very well have confirmed that Chief Albert Ukpanah was a simple man, an Engineer by profession, who was not interested in accumulating material wealth. His number one expectation was to see the leaders of his community build a better society where future generations, such as his only son, could grow to live a meaningful life. For demanding accountability from leaders of his community, Chief Ukpanah is no longer alive; cut down from the assassin’s bullets. He had only one child. According to the Holy Bible; “Bloodthirsty men hate a man of integrity and seek to kill the upright” (Proverbs 29:10—NIV).
No matter the speculations and self-denial, it is obvious that the assassination of Chief Albert Ukpanah may not be unconnected with the political ambition of Godswill Akpabio to become the next Senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom State.
Reports have surfaced that the late Chief Ukpanah was a leading voice among those who are against Akpabio’s ambition for the senate seat. Ukpanah had agitated and had been advising his people not to support Akpabio because he thought the next person to occupy the Senate seat should be an indigene of Abak Federal Constituency (where he comes from). Some supporters of Akpabio, such as Emmanuel Enoidem and Nse Ntuen, have been known to resent Chief Ukpanah for his opposition against Akpabio’s ambition.
The assassination of Chief Ukpanah is not the first time anyone opposed to Akpabio had been so dealt with. Listen to the immediate past member representing Abak State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Mr. Uwem Udoma: “Recall that before the 2011 governorship election in this state,
there were lots of kidnappings and bloodshed but as soon as the election
was over, the whole tension died down. That era of terror has resurfaced again. I want to inform you that a chieftain of the PDP and a strong advocate and fighter for the actualization of the Abak Federal Constituency senatorial project, Chief Albert Ukpanah was last Wednesday killed by unknown persons
” (http://blog4all-com.blogspot.com/2014/03/akpabios-2015-senatorial-aspiration.html).
The killers of Chief Albert Ukpanah may never be known, but the motive is very well known. The assassins are deceiving themselves into believing that by eliminating him, Godswill Akpabio will sail through the process to the Senate floor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, unchallenged. Again, listen to Uwem Udoma: “The ex-lawmaker, who is aspiring to represent the Abak Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, maintained that he would not be intimidated by the assassination of Chief Ukpanah as he would continue to fight for the enthronement of a person from his area in the Senate in 2015” (http://blog4all-com.blogspot.com/2014/03/akpabios-2015-senatorial-aspiration.html).
While many people may clap for the likes of Uwem Udoma, who has vowed to continue the fight against self-imposition on the people by Godswill Akpabio, it is safe to say that this fight may be too late in coming because the Annang people in particular had been selfish in their attitudes and behaviors—as a group—by remaining quiet, without any voice of condemnation against the political terror which Godswill Akpabio reigned on their Ibibio brethren during the 2010-2011 governorship campaign.
When Chief Paul Inyang was assassinated, the Annang did not give a damn—they looked the other away and pretended as if our State was normal.
When Barrister Udonwa was assassinated, the Annang looked the other away, instead of condemning the evils that were about to consume our once peaceful state at the time.
When Edidem James Robert Obot was assassinated, the Annang said nothing and according to them, it was Ibibio that were killing their fellow Ibibio men and women. The Annang never asked why no such assassinations occurred during the administrations of past governors.
When Senator Akpan Udoedehe was arrested and charged to court under trumped up charges, the Annang praised their son—the governor—for dealing “very well” with opposition.
Even when their fellow Annang son, Dr. Ime Umana, was arrested and charged to court by Akpabio under false allegations of planning to kill Akpabio, the Annang, especially those of Ikot Ekpene extraction, remained quiet, after all their son—the governor—was dealing in a “justifiable” manner with an ungrateful man—they believed the lies of Godswill Akpabio.
Before her death, the mother of King Lemuel taught his son the following; “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy” (Proverbs 31:8-9—NIV).
Because the Annang did not condemn and did not speak up against the evils of political assassinations and kidnappings for ransom when Akpabio exacted his terror on Ibibio people, now they are beginning to face what their brethren of Ibibio extraction had endured during the 2010-2011 campaign. The killing will continue because it is one of the tools of intimidation which Godswill Akpabio is prepared and willing to exact on all those that his warp mind will tell him are the stumbling blocks to his mad ambition to become the next Senator from Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.
