Police Arrest Man Who Poisoned His 3 Sons With Sniper Because He Suspected Them Of Witch Craft.

The Nigeria police at Bayelsa command has arrested a 42-year-old father of three, Sunday Otasi, for allegedly killing his two sons with a poisonous substance known as ‘Sniper’ over his suspicion of witchcraft. One of the sons, however, cheated death though he is in critical condition after he escaped from the bush where his father and uncle had tied them to a tree.

The man, who hails from Agbobiri-Okodia in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa, reportedly took his three sons, Success Otasi, aged 14; Miracle Otasi, aged 12; and Godstime Otasi, aged 10, to a bush along Glory Drive Road at Igbogene in Yenagoa, where he tied them to a tree with the help of his younger brother, Levai Ayah and forced them to drink the killer substance.

It was gathered that the three children ran into troubled waters sometimes in September last year when Prophet George Odoko of George Odoko Outreach Ministries told their father that his children were wizards and responsible for his illness.

Since then, the three children were reportedly subjected to different kinds of torture by the man and his relatives, who believed that their mother who was no longer in marriage with their father had bewitched them. Otasi, who denied killing his sons, told newsmen that he only brought the children to Yenagoa on December 29, to be delivered at Prophet Odoko’s church but could not get the deliverance done because the prophet couldn’t attend to them.

He added that he decided to give the three children to his younger brother, Levi to return them to his mother in the village. “I don’t know what my brother did to my children on the way back to the village.”
But the surviving son and the eldest, Success, who miraculously survived the poisonous liquid revealed that his father and his younger brother, now at large, took them to the bush and gave them sniper to drink.

The boy who spoke to newsmen at a hospital in Yenagoa where he is receiving treatment said his father told them that they were going to a church service in Yenagoa but diverted them to a bush where they were tied and given sniper to drink.

My father came to take us from our grandmother and told us that we were going to a church in Yenagoa but when we reached the road, he and his brother took us to the bush and tied me and my younger brothers and gave us sniper to drink. I managed to come to the road after I used my legs to remove the rope and people saw me and took me to the hospital.”

Confirming the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aminu Selah, said the suspect has made confessional statements while the police were on the chase of the fleeing accomplice. The police boss called on parents to show love to their children and wards, urging members of the public to avoid jungle justice of any kind.

The military has since recovered his body.

“Ex-chief of Defense Staff, Alex Badeh, strong critic of the @MBuhari government, was just assassinated along Abuja-Keffi Rd. This is a man who knew a lot about the inner workings of this government. His death must be investigated. It is too convenient. You may be next” Mr. Omokri tweeted

The Assistant Inspector General in charge of zone 2 command, AIG Adamu Ibrahim has upheld the recommendation of police disciplinary body that recommended dismissal of four policemen attached to Special Anti Robbery Squad Ikeja, Lagos (SARS).
The four policemen who were dismissed and subsequently charged to court on offences of Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Unlawful detention, Intimidation and threatening violence being the report of the Investigation carried out against them when one Mr Chukwudi Godwin Odionye popularly referred to as ‘Bishop’ submitted a petition against the four on 2nd day of May 2018.
The petitioner in his petition stated that on the 4th of June 2017, he was in his house around Alagbado Lagos when the four armed men stormed his house to effect his arrest on the allegation of performing ‘FAKE’ miracles. He stated that after his arrest, he was taken to one hotel at Agege where he was detained and threatened to be killed if he fails to cooperate. He explained further that on the following day 5th June 2017, he was taken to bank where he was made to transfer seven million Naira to one of the operative’s account.
On the receipt of the petition the AIG ordered Investigation into the case.
On the strength of Investigation it was revealed that no proper police procedure for Investigation was followed in Mr chukwudi’s arrest and that the four SARS operatives actually abducted the man from his house and Unlawfully detained him in the hotel under the guard of the suspects for personal gain.
The police men:
Sgt Adeoye Adekunle
Sgt Adenira Adebowale
Sgt Agbi Lucky
Sgt Odighe Hehosa
Who were subsequently found guilty during the orderly room trial for professional misconduct, corrupt practices and discreditable conduct were dismissed and consequently charged to court on criminal charges of Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Unlawful Detention, Stealing, Intimidation and threatening violence.
The Police Public Relations Officer of zone 2 command, CSP Dolapo Badmos while parading the suspects reiterated the AIG’S directive that the force will not tolerate any act of misconduct that undermines the value of International best practices of policing as she stated further that any police officer or men found guilty will not be spared.

Michael Mathew Ukanga Ekpo: The Sorry Tales of a Rapist, Fugitive, and Fraudster

12 Jun

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling

The gentleman whose image appears here is a known fraudster. His name is Michael Ukanga Asuquo Mathew Udofia Ekpo Etukudo. He has no known profession or job. He once ran a blog called naijaleaks.com which he used in cooking all sorts of lies against government officials. I am sure like every other part of his life, he has abandoned that blog by now. The guy is just useless. Ukanga Ekpo survives on blackmail and false alarm and offers himself for hiring to anyone who has someone to blackmail.

Ekpo has been quite jobless and hungry for some months now because the blackmail industry had run out of clients. We all know that Ukanga Ekpo shamelessly went back to Chief Godswill Akpabio recently to beg for forgiveness else he would die of hunger. This is the same Godswill Akpabio Mike spent all his energy and resources to blackmail. There is no name on the face of the earth that Ukanga Ekpo did not use on Godswill Akpabio. But Akpabio who is a forgiving guy gave him 1 million nairas to revive his life. That is why you see Mike praising and defending Akpabio with all his energy and strength. I hope he will continue on this right path for a long time, money or no money.

This is the same Mike Ekpo who said Sir Emem Akpabio was an occult leader. He called Sir Emem Mkpenek. He said all political appointees back then swore to blood oaths, supervised by Sir Emem. Who does not know Mike Ekpo? This guy was rusticated from Polytechnic Calabar. He left Ekpoabasi without a single certificate and has never gone to any other school since that time. The guy is a bloody dropout. He is a cultist that was rusticated from Polytechnic Calabar (PolyCal). He is a fraudster who has put families in penury. He is an incredulous infidel whose penchant for putting girls the family way and thereafter abandoning them to languish in excruciating pains.Image may contain: one or more people, people standing and shoes

Mike Ekpo impregnated two sisters from Utu Abak, Emem Ukpe, and Unwana Ukpe. Both delivered twins. The guy out of frustration ran to Ghana and while in Ghana did nothing other than defrauding innocent people on the internet and blackmailing government officials. Mike’s main job was advanced fee fraud aka 419 while in Ghana. Mike owed the tiny dingy motel he stayed bills of over 3 years and ran away when the management reported to the police.

Michael Mathew is a very unstable character. Mike is always on the run, even at the age of over 50 years. He is a refugee, whose stock in trade includes cooking up falsehood and slanting against his perceived enemies in government. When he came back to Nigeria, he patched up in Lagos and worked partly as a club bouncer and traded in retail cocaine, Indian hemp, codeine and other narcotics.

Michael Mathew as he loves to call himself has swindled several people of their valuables and through false pretense rendered so many unsuspecting people in Akwa Ibom penniless. A case at hand was the use of his GSM office along Ikot Ekpene road to defraud people before.

So, it is important to know the kind of guy called Michael Mathew. He lives on handouts depending on who pays at a particular time. It is very easy to know who is giving Mike food at a particular time. He started by praising Nsima Ekere and blackmailing all his enemies. He moved to Obong Bassey Albert, who was nice to him that season. Mike did what he is best known for. When it appeared that OBA was not willing to give him more money, he moved to Obong Umana Umana, the man he spent his entire life blackmailing. He even said Umana was a free Manson and was fond of using day old children to cook pepper soup. Mike can say anything to get money. When Umana failed in his governorship quest, Mike stylishly returned to the Bassey Albert camp to beg for a living. When Obong Nsima Ekere was announced NDDC MD, Mike knew food was ready and started writing in support. Another blackmail mill is open for Mike Ukanga Ekpo. Nsima Ekere is now using Mike to get back at Ephraim Inyang because Ephraim has been criticizing NDDC projects. Nsima Ekere has an interest in the Ikot Abasi- Ekparakwa-Ete road. He wants the public to believe that Ephraim Inyang is the one stopping him and NDDC from executing the job. He has gone a long way to forge documents to show that the ministry of works intends to do the road. He now uses Mike Ukanga Ekpo to do the bad job.Image may contain: 1 person, close-up and indoor

Mike is ready and willing. Mike says Ephraim is terrorizing commissioners, what kind of nonsense talk is that? He says Ephraim has taken over the job of commissioner for information and education, the question is how? Nsima Ekere through Mike Ekpo is just trying to cause confusion and bad blood in Akwa Ibom state for their selfish. We now know Mike’s tricks. We know his new paymaster. Mike Ekpo says Ephraim is blowing a whistle on abandoned NDDC contracts knowing that most of them are PDP members and wants Akpabio’s men destroyed. That is another stupid reason Mike and his new paymasters are putting out for people to believe. That is a complete nonsense. Mike said Ephraim Inyang slapped Enoidem at the Exco chambers. He also said Ephraim blocked Enoidem from a government board appointment.

This is Enoidem’s reply to that thrash. “My brother, I have never had any confrontation or quarrel with Ephraim Inyang. Never ever. So we couldn’t have fought. Ephraim Inyang was my colleague as I was his dean in the college. I resigned from exco with the full support of the governor in August to go and protect his interest at the national office of PDP. I have a personal relationship with Governor Udom Emmanuel, Ephraim can’t come in. I believed and still believe in his capacity to lead Akwa Ibom to the next level. He’s detribalized and a Christian. I have never wanted to. E appointed to any board as I wait to go to the party. I am still working with and supporting Governor Udom Emmanuel to deliver on his promises and I will do this beyond 2019. I don’t need to do it as a commissioner or board member but as one of his supporters, loyalists and a true Akwa Ibom person who believe in the state. On the day of the election, Ephraim will be in Onna while Enoidem will be in Etim Ekpo. There is no magic that can make him be in the two places at the same time. He can’t put a team in Etim Ekpo. It is the Governor who will do that”.

Nobody should take Mike Ukanga Ekpo serious. His latest attempt to paint Ephraim Inyang in a bad light is his normal way of operation. He is a hatchet man and Nsima Ekere is using him very well, taking advantage of Ukanga Ekpo’s hunger. The Akwa Ibom state government cannot award a federal road without express approval. Nsima Ekere is actually afraid that Governor Udom Emmanuel can get that approval ahead of the NDDC because everybody knows that Nsima’s tenure will expire by December, so he wants to siphon the initial contract sum and we know his tricks. Ephraim Inyang has no reason to hate Annang people. Why should he? Ephraim is married to an Annang lady from Oruk Anam. Does it mean that he hates his in-laws, capital NO! Ephraim deals with Annang people very freely without bias. Ephraim Inyang respects the Akpabio’s family and did not terminate any contract given to Sir Emem Akpabio. Sir Emem Akpabio does not own any construction company. The contract terminated by the Governor was the Uyo-Okopedi road given to an Israeli company called Renosans. Mike is trying to twist the entire thing to favour his paymasters. He should go and get a life. So, blackmailing Ephraim Inyang will not help him in any way.

For the records, Ephraim Inyang is a very focused and determined gentleman. He will never succumb to blackmail. Those who tried it in the past have seen that it did not work. So, even Mike Ekpo and his current paymasters should see that it did not work. Ephraim Inyang is only interested in the success of the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel and will stop at nothing to make it work. Every day, he is out in the field to ensure that Akwa Ibom people benefit from government projects. He is also a fearless man. He will say it to your face. The NDDC must stop doing poor projects in Akwa Ibom state. How can one agency abandon over 600 projects? Forget the fact that an Akwa Ibom an Akwa Ibom son is the current MD. They must also learn to complete their projects in the state. That is not too much to ask for. Ephraim Inyang is not witch-hunting anybody. So, anybody who is afraid of him is just having a complex problem or low self-esteem. What is important to Akwa Ibom people is results and good roads.

The current documents in circulation purporting that Ephraim Inyang has awarded the contract of the Ekparakwa- Ikot Abasi road is meaningless. It is only the Governor of the state who can award a contract. The Governor is a man of due process and will never award a Federal road without due permission and clearance. He is transparent and honest.

It is also false and stupid to suggest that Ephraim Inyang uses his company to award contracts. How can that be possible? The contractors executing projects for government are well known and established. They are supervised very closely by the ministry of works. Everybody can attest to that. The Pull Ephraim Inyang down syndrome will not work. Akwa Ibom people are smart for all these lies. They know where their bread is buttered and who is working hard to deliver on the campaign promises.

Mike Ukanga Ekpo should look elsewhere to re-launch his blackmail career and not on Ephraim Inyang.Image may contain: 1 person

Senator Godswill Akpabio’s Local Government under siege as ‘Akwa Marine cult group’ attacks many

I really sympathized with pensioners - Akwa Ibom Former Governor, Senator Akpabio - thekillerpunch news

Dozens of residents have fled a community in Akwa Ibom after repeated attacks by a suspected cult group, locals and security officials say.

Residents of Midim Atan village in Essien Udim local government area of the state said at least two people have so far been killed and many more injured in attacks by a group known as Akwa Marine.

“Akwa Marine led by Emmanuel Ben has been disturbing our community for many years. The problem is not just the cultists but the people sponsoring them and that is why it has been difficult to clamp them down,” said a local chief, Efene Jeremiah.

The unrest has lasted years, and police have made limited success against the group despite an investigation by a team set up by the former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, to probe its activities.

The divisional police officer for Essien Udim, Alhassan Guda, said he was new at the post and could not comment on the activities of the gang.

But the spokesperson for the police’s Criminal Investigation Department, Chike Nwabuwa, told this newspaper that an investigation team had long been set up by Mr. Arase, to monitor and investigate the activities of the gang following several complaints. He declined to disclose the findings of the panel.

The Investigating Police Officer in charge of the case, Abdul Mohammed, did not also disclose the findings when contacted by PREMIUM TIMES.

Many residents say the group has been emboldened by police inaction.

The Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, which also received multiple petitions on the matter, also said police had not responded to its request for details of the attacks.

The civil rights department of the ministry told PREMIUM TIMES that the ministry had written to the Police IG’s office regarding the case, but had received no response for months.

Security officials and locals, many of whom had fled the community, blame the lack of aggressive police response on links between the group and powerful politicians from the area.

They say the group was set up ahead of the 2011 elections to go after perceived opponents of top politicians from the area, including former Governor Godswill Akpabio, whom they accuse of providing support for the group.

Mr. Akpabio denies the allegation. His spokesperson, Anietie Ekong, told PREMIUM TIMES the former governor, who is now the Senate minority leader, would not sponsor a criminal gang.

“It is pure political mischief to link the distinguished Senator to a criminal gang,” Mr. Ekong said.

He said several petitions sent by community members to different law enforcement agencies, linking Mr. Akpabio to the group, were “politically motivated”.

“Any criminal who has been apprehended by the security agencies should be made to face the consequences of his action,” Mr. Ekong said, referring to the recent arrest of Mr. Ben.

Attacks and killings

Ahead of the elections in 2011 and 2015, attacks by the group largely targeted those perceived to support political parties other than the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the state’s governing party, several security officials and witnesses told PREMIUM TIMES.

Victor Udom, a community member, told this newspaper how he and another resident of the community, Samuel Ikpa, fled the community after being attacked in 2015 on suspicion they supported the main opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC.

“On that fateful morning, we were suddenly surrounded by members of the gang led by Emmanuel Ben. Before we could say jack, kicks, hits and blows rained on us,” Mr. Udom, a former ExxonMobil staff said. “If not for some community members who saw what was happening and alerted the police on surveillance team on ground for the election, we would have been dead.”

In recent months, the attacks have been more random, with gang members going after non-members suspected of supporting efforts to clamp down on the group.

Mr. Udom’s cousin, Udo Udom, was killed and set alight alongside another community member, Ekpenyong Uwa, in September 2016, by the group, this paper confirmed. The group accused them of theft, an allegation their families strongly denies.

After evading capture for years, Mr. Ben was finally arrested in February by the police, with the support of the State Security Service, SSS, and locals.

Mr. Ben was transferred to Abuja where he is currently being held at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, office on allegations of terrorism and murder.

But some community members say the police, under pressure from politicians, are making efforts to send him back to Akwa Ibom on claims his offences are not federal crimes. Police did not respond to that claim.

Seeking justice

In recent weeks, attacks have escalated in the small community largely in response to Mr. Ben’s arrest.

A fortnight ago, members of the gang attacked the local market, called Urua Nsong Eto, and vandalised shops, sending traders scampering for safety. They also torched homes of those suspected to be in support of Mr. Ben’s arrest.

In a bid to get government’s attention on the activities of the gang, fleeing community members mobilised and travelled to Abuja for a protest march on April 27, but were denied permission by the commissioner of police, FCT command, Musa Kimo.Mr. Udom said police advised them to take the protest to Akwa Ibom. The community leaders later marched to Louis Edet House, the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where they narrated their personal experiences at the hands of the group’s leader, Mr. Ben.

Amongst several crimes, Mr. Ben is accused of ordering the killing of the two men murdered in Midim Atan: Udo Udom and Ekpenyong Uwa.

Mr. Udom’s mother, Nse John, was one of the over a dozen community members who managed to travel to Abuja in April to seek justice.

She told PREMIUM TIMES her son was killed by the gang led by Mr. Ben on September 28, 2016.

“They came and took my child from the house at 7 pm. When they left with my child, I was not feeling well, I put on my clothes and walked gently. Before I could get there, they had killed him and cut him into pieces,” Mrs. John narrated amidst tears.

The community chief, Mr. Jeremiah, who corroborated the story, told PREMIUM TIMES the attacks have continued because of the support the group receives from powerful individuals.

“We have gone to many security agencies, when we call them, they will say the situation is a very bad one but nothing will be done,” he said.

Akpabio Needs To Make Peace With His Enemies.

7 Jul

By Asuquo Nyong Ette

“He should try to reach out personally to those whom he has hurt ( or even hurt him), make a time to wine and dine with them”

Godswill Akpabio, Akwa Ibom State Governor.

Gov Akpabio has barely nine months to vacate the Hilltop Mansion. He might be painting a very horrendous picture of himself in his last lap of his administration. This should be a period of recompense, reparation and restitution; not vendetta!Akpabio‘s advisers are not doing him any justice by trying to make him look very bad at this time of his “good bye to all that”. If after seven years of Thomas purported vituperation and ‘mutiny’ , nothing happened to him, is this the time for payback?

He should try to reach out personally to those whom he has hurt ( or even hurt him), make a time to wine and dine with them. It is no longer time for his man’s Friday to take the front burner. Sycophancy should be trashed by now. Soon he will be an ordinary person, apart from his bullet proof cars, his security will be trimmed, SSS and the dark glasses boys will no longer walk beside his car. It is time for his critics too to shield swords!

But one problem is, his imposition agenda would not let this happen! Even if it is Akpbio’s mother that will take over from him, she will not take instruction from Akpabio after six months! During the first three years of his emergence, I was his big fan! I lauded his generosity and pragmatism. I turned one of his critics when paranoid sycophants turned his administration into money making venture, snitching, blackmailing, spying and even killing sometimes, oblivious of his thoughts. Today what I’m I doing? Watching with my Ishiewu! Of course, there is God oohhhh!! #FreeThomasThomasNow!

Threat to Akpabio’s Life: Dr. Ime Umanah Wins Again.

6 Jul

BY NDON ASIAN

The Akwa Ibom State Government found itself at a cross road in the ongoing trial of Dr. Ime Sampson Umanah as Hon. Justice Ifiok Ukana ruled to reject the statement of the first accused person in the trial within trial. This is the second time that the same statement has been ruled upon and marked “rejected” in a second trial within trial.

Akpabio and Ime Umanah.

The first was by the Honourable State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Idongesit Ntem Isua, whose earlier ruling has now been vindicated. Hon. Justice Ukana in a detailed and very well considered ruling captured every argument, evidence led, cross examination and important issues relevant to arriving at the conclusion in the mini-trial. Much of what rendered the case of the state against Ime Umanah and Ikemesit Iyire in the trial within trial hopelessly doomed included evidence of what transpired at the place of arrest of DW 1 (Mr. Ikemesit Iyire) before the departure from Ikot Ekpene to Uyo and inside the bus, which were not challenged nor contradicted.

It is instructive to observe that throughout the trial within trial the state either failed or neglected to have any of the operatives who effected the arrest of the first accused testify as one of its witnesses.

Again, the Court noted that the only version of event which transpired before and after DW1 was taken before the state Director of SSS is that of DW1, concluding that the state failed to cross-examine DW1 in respect of his narration of the event, that is the meeting with the Director. “The prosecution is divided as to whether the two pages of the statement are in the same ink. There is no evidence from the prosecution particularly PW1 (Uche Nwokolo) who said he supervised the taking of the statement that as the statement was being written by DW1 he encountered problem with the writing material he was using.

That evidence should have come from him but he did not offer any such explanation”, the Court pointed out on the issue of different shades of ink on the two pages of the alleged confessional. On the mutilated date on the confessional statement form signed by PW 3 (DSP Moses Eno), the Court had the following to say, “I have looked at the said confessional statement form. Directly after PW3 signature is his rank DSP next to it is the mutilated date. It shows a superimposition of 5 on 3 with 2 in front of 5 to achieve 25.

Thereafter you find a doctoring of 0 to 1 with another 1 in front obviously to change 11 to 10, all to present to this Court 25/10/2010 as against 3/11/2010. I have said that every document speaks for itself. What the confessional statement form has spoken with respect to the date written by PW3 is that it is mutilated, changed from 3/11/2010 to 25/10/2010”. And for the second time PW3 was said not to be a truthful witness. “Using this to assess the evidence of PW3 is without wasting words, is to say that PW3 is not a witness of truth. I cannot believe him”, the Court noted.

On the urge by lead defense counsel, Samuel Ikpo Esq. that the Court should expunge the evidence of Uche Nwokolo from the record of proceedings in the trial within trial, Justice Ukana ruled that “PW1 was listed as a witness in the main trial to that extent he could be accommodated in the trial within a trial. However given his reaction to the statement filed along with the notice of additional evidence on 12/7/2013 where PW1 distanced himself from the statement credited to him PW1 cannot be the person through whom any document considered fit can be admitted as exhibit in the main trial”. In the end the Court held that, “Arising from the totality of the foregoing I hold that the statement of the 1st accused person who is DW1 in this trial which statement is dated 25/10/2010 was not voluntary. It was a product of inducement. If the statement of 25/10/2010 is not voluntary, the confessional statement form cannot validate it and cloth it with a toga of voluntariness given its own problem.

Consequently the statement credited to the 1st accused and dated 25/10/2010 and the confessional statement form shall both be marked rejected”. The ruling has not only laid to rest the controversy which surrounded the statement but has additionally limited the options of the state to four. The state may proceed to appeal in what may certainly amount to an exercise in delay and waste of time or it may continue into the main trial without any exhibit to found a conviction.

The state may also wish, as a face saving measure, to enter a nully prosecui through the Attorney General, to discontinue the case or commence the trial afresh in another Court, but this option may be impossible to explain to Court why there should be no end to litigation. Speaking shortly after the ruling one Daniel Uko from Abak among the many consistent faces that had followed this trial who spoke with Weekly Insight praised the boldness and forthrightness of the Judge whom he described as “very intelligent and acting without fear or favour”. Uko also praised the defense team particularly Samuel Ikpo Esq. and wondered why the government should not read “the handwriting on the wall and save itself from the embarrassment of losing after this many years in court”, to withdraw. The state was represented by Mary Okobo (Mrs) while Samuel Ikpo Esq led a team of seven layers for the defense.
